Conflict of Interests
The Nexus Global Research Journal of Medical Sciences (NGRJMS) recognizes that the integrity of the peer-review process, scientific credibility, and reliability of published medical research depend on the proper identification, disclosure, and management of conflicts of interest. A conflict of interest may arise when personal, financial, professional, academic, or institutional relationships could influence, or reasonably appear to influence, the conduct of research, interpretation of findings, manuscript preparation, peer review, or editorial decision-making.
All authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial staff involved in the publication process are required to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest to ensure transparency, fairness, accountability, and academic integrity. Disclosed conflicts will be evaluated by the editorial team and appropriately managed. Relevant disclosures may be included in published articles to maintain transparency with readers.
1. Responsibilities of Authors
Authors must disclose all financial, personal, professional, academic, and institutional relationships that could influence their research, clinical investigations, interpretation of results, or manuscript preparation. Every submission must include a clear conflict-of-interest declaration, even when no competing interests exist. Authors must also acknowledge relevant funding sources, institutional support, and individuals or organizations that have provided substantial writing, technical, statistical, or other research assistance.
2. Funding Sources
Authors must clearly identify all sources of financial support, research grants, institutional funding, sponsorships, and other forms of financial assistance received for their research. Where applicable, authors must describe the role of funding organizations or sponsors in study design, participant recruitment, data collection, laboratory investigations, statistical analysis, interpretation of results, and manuscript preparation. The journal reserves the right to take appropriate action if funding arrangements or sponsor involvement are found to compromise scientific integrity, research independence, or editorial impartiality.
3. Reviewers
Reviewers must disclose any personal, financial, academic, institutional, or professional relationships that could affect their ability to provide an objective and impartial assessment of a submitted manuscript. Reviewers with significant conflicts of interest must decline the review invitation and inform the editorial office. Authors may request the exclusion of specific reviewers by providing reasonable academic or professional justification; however, the final decision regarding reviewer selection rests with the editorial team.
4. Editors and Editorial Staff
Editors must disclose any relevant conflicts of interest and must not participate in the evaluation or editorial decision-making of manuscripts where their impartiality, independence, or professional judgment may be compromised. Such manuscripts should be assigned to an independent editor without relevant competing interests. Editorial staff must maintain strict confidentiality throughout the submission, review, and publication processes and must not use unpublished research findings, confidential manuscript information, or other materials obtained during editorial activities for personal, academic, or professional advantage.
5. Clinical and Medical Research Considerations
For clinical trials, pharmaceutical research, medical device studies, and other healthcare-related investigations, authors must disclose relevant financial relationships with pharmaceutical companies, healthcare organizations, medical device manufacturers, sponsors, or other commercial entities. Any involvement of sponsors in research design, data interpretation, manuscript preparation, or publication decisions must be transparently reported. Such disclosures are essential to maintaining confidence in the independence and reliability of published medical research.
NGRJMS is committed to identifying and managing conflicts of interest transparently, consistently, and responsibly. Through appropriate disclosure and editorial oversight, the journal seeks to protect the fairness of peer review, maintain scientific independence, and preserve the credibility and integrity of the scholarly record.
