ABSTRACT:

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are critical drivers of economic growth, employment, and innovation, yet they continue to face persistent barriers in accessing formal financing due to structural credit risks and information asymmetry. This study examines the credit risk mitigation strategies applied in SME financing within the United States and compares them with practices adopted in emerging markets. The objective is to identify actionable frameworks that can enhance credit accessibility, improve loan performance, and strengthen financial resilience in both contexts. Using a comparative research approach, the paper evaluates risk assessment models, regulatory practices, collateral frameworks, alternative data usage, digital lending innovations, and the integration of AI-driven credit analytics. The study highlights how U.S. financial institutions benefit from advanced credit scoring systems, robust supervisory standards, and strong data infrastructure, enabling more precise risk profiling. Conversely, emerging markets demonstrate growing adoption of alternative data credit scoring, relationship-based lending models, and fintech-led solutions that compensate for limited documentation and informal economic structures. The findings show that combining U.S. regulatory strengths with the innovation-driven flexibility of emerging markets can create more inclusive and effective SME financing strategies. The study proposes a hybrid risk mitigation framework that integrates predictive analytics, diversified collateral approaches, dynamic cash-flow assessments, and real-time borrower monitoring. This approach can reduce default risk, expand credit opportunities, and support long-term economic stability. Overall, the research underscores the need for modernized credit risk mitigation strategies to unlock SME growth and promote sustainable economic development. The insights generated from this comparative analysis are valuable for policymakers, lenders, and financial institutions aiming to enhance SME financing environments, particularly in the U.S. market where small businesses remain central to national economic competitiveness.

ABSTRACT:

Obesity has grown into one of the most acute global health challenges, with prevalence rates tripling over the past five decades. The aim of this comprehensive review is to present contemporary nutritional strategies for obesity prevention and management by synthesizing evidence from recent clinical trials, meta-analyses, and observational studies regarding multiple dietary approaches: intermittent fasting, Mediterranean diet, plant-based diets, precision nutrition, and microbiome-targeted interventions. Current clinical guidelines emphasize personalized approaches to obesity care, given the wide variability in individual responses to dietary interventions. The integration of behavioral modifications, technological innovations, and gut microbiome modulation represents a paradigm shift from traditional calorie-restriction approaches toward comprehensive, individualized strategies. There is evidence that long-term weight control should be considered as management of a chronic disease, with long-term behavioral changes and improvements in overall health rather than just weight loss. This review underlines the multifaceted nature of obesity management and points out that evidence-based and patient-centered nutritional interventions will be very important for this purpose.

ABSTRACT:

Fly ash, which is a by-product of coal combustion in thermal power plants has gained a lot of attention in the field of civil engineering as a sustainable resource that can be used in construction works. This is a research paper that reviews the use of fly ash in the construction of the road and concrete in the construction industry and specifically on its effects on the mechanical properties, durability, and environmental performance. It has been demonstrated that the partial substitution of cement or aggregates with fly ash will increase long-term strength, longevity and ability to withstand aggressive environments, and considerably decrease the carbon footprint of concrete. The paper is a synthesis of various experimental research works and field tests, advanced microstructural research, and the impacts of surface-modification of fly ash on its reactivity. The problems connected with the variability of fly ash quality and standardization, as well as the optimal mix composition, are discussed. In addition, the paper discusses the opportunities of using fly ash in the future in superior composites and construction with reference to meeting sustainable development objectives. ABSTRACT:

Regenerative medicine seeks to repair or replace damaged tissues and organs using cells, biomaterials, and molecular therapies. Key advances include stem cell therapies (e.g. induced pluripotent stem cells, ESCs, MSCs), precise gene editing (CRISPR/Cas9), and engineered tissues via 3D bioprinting. Artificial intelligence and big data are accelerating discovery in this field. Clinical trials report encouraging results: for example, patient-derived cells have improved retinal burns and heart function. Major applications are emerging in cardiology (heart repair), neurology (neuronal regeneration), and orthopedics (bone and cartilage repair). However, challenges remain, including immune rejection, tumor risk, and ethical concerns (embryo use, human cloning). Future directions point toward combining approaches: gene-edited universal donor tissues, vascularized organoids, and advanced bioreactors. As methods mature, regenerative medicine holds promise for chronic diseases and trauma. This review summarizes current breakthroughs, real-world implementations, ethical issues, and future prospects.

ABSTRACT:

Background: There is a growing prevalence of systemic hypertension mediated organ damage. This study assessed the awareness of hypertension and target organ damage (TOD) among hypertensives aged 30 years and above attending the outpatient clinic of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Lafia, Nigeria. Methodology: This was a cross-sectional study. Systematic random sampling technique was used in selecting 261 respondents with systemic hypertension aged 30 years and above. Data was collected through interviewer administered questionnaire. They were screened for left ventricular hypertrophy, hypertensive retinopathy and kidney damage. Statistical package for Social Sciences version 23 was used to analyze the data. Statistical significance was set at p< 0.05 Results: The mean age of participants was 50.29 ยฑ 12.73 years, with females making up 173 (66.3%) of the sample. Awareness of hypertension was 36.0% (94), while awareness of target organ damage was 42.1% (110). Hypertension had been diagnosed in 40.6% (106) of participants for less than five years. Additionally, 1.1% (3) smoked cigarettes, 2.3% (6) consumed significant amounts of alcohol, and 28.0% (73) were obese. The prevalence of microalbuminuria and target organ damage was 43.3% (113) and 77% (201), respectively. No significant association was found between awareness of hypertension and the presence of left ventricular hypertrophy, kidney damage, or retinopathy, indicating that awareness alone does not effectively reduce the occurrence of these complications.

Conclusion: Awareness of systemic hypertension and target organ damage is still low. There is urgent need for primary care physicians to raise awareness by increasing effort at giving proper education and counselling on the complications of systemic hypertension, importance of blood pressure control and adherence to treatment plan. This study can also serve as a basis for longitudinal studies on the relationship between awareness of systemic hypertension and development of target organ damage in patients with systemic hypertension.

ABSTRACT:

Breast cancer survivorship has unique challenges in the physical, emotional, and social domains of health. There is emerging evidence that plant-based dietary patterns may bring significant benefits to breast cancer survivors through a variety of biological mechanisms and lifestyle factors. This review outlines the current state of research into the relationship between plant-based diets and quality of life outcomes among survivors of breast cancer, covering physical functioning, psychosocial wellbeing, and social health. The review draws together epidemiological studies, clinical trials, and mechanistic research to provide a comprehensive understanding of how plant-based nutrition could support survivorship care. Evidence exists to show that plant-based diets high in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes are related to weight management, less fatigue, improved physical function, improved emotional health, and increased social interaction among survivors. These seem to be mediated by anti-inflammatory and hormonal effects, improvement in gut microbiota composition, and psychosocial factors associated with self-efficacy in lifestyle changes. Although there are methodological limitations, the balance of evidence supports the incorporation of plant-based dietary counselling into comprehensive survivorship care programs.

ABSTRACT:

The research aims to examine the efficiency of learner-centred strategies (LCS) in the teaching of natural sciences in grade 5 classrooms in Timor-Leste, where the teaching-learning process is still characterised by teacher-centered learning (TCL), despite the curricular reforms. The qualitative descriptive design was employed, where the data were collected using semi-structured interviews, observation in classrooms, and analysis of documents by five science teachers in three schools in Baucau. The results indicate that inquiry-based learning theories and constructivist theories have been adopted by teachers who are increasingly adopting LCS strategies, including questioning, group work, problem solving, and guided demonstration. These plans have increased student engagement and participation, but the implementation process is limited due to insufficient resources, lack of ICT integration, and structural restrictions, including inappropriate classroom infrastructure and lack of access to science-related materials. Even though there was a positive attitude of teachers toward LCS, the lack of systematic assessment tools hampered the evidence of long-term learning outcomes. The study concludes that to ensure that Timor-Leste students develop critical, creative, and scientific skills in the 21st century, science education must be supported more effectively by institutions, teachers, and resources.

ABSTRACT:

According to Patanjali’s description in the Yoga Sutras, the sixth of yoga’s Eight Limbs is called Dharana. It is referring to the state of mind known as concentration. To engage in dharana, one must train one’s attention on a certain object, which may be either internal or external (for example, a statue or a god) or internal (such as a chakra). The Sanskrit term dharana can be translated as “concentration.” Pranayama is a set of practices for harnessing and managing prana, also known as universal life energy. It is a vital component of yoga and is commonly included in asana practice or offered as a pre-meditation exercise. In this research paper, the researcher intends to study the effectiveness of practicing Dharana and Pranayama in the case of gun shooters in Andhra Pradesh. Studentโ€™s t-test was employed to find the statistical significance of the study. The study revealed that practicing Dharana and Pranayama has improved the gun shootersโ€™ performance.

ABSTRACT:

As countries get nearer to the 2030 target for Sustainable Development Goal 4.7, a measurement gap that threatens to prevent proper peace education is formed. In this article, a new neuroethical framework is presented that merges BCIs with empathy assessment and enhancement in education through real-time interactions. The use of self-reported surveys to assess values education such as peace, love, and tolerance is the main issue here because these surveys are biased and do not show real outreach development. New methods in affective neuroscience reveal that BCIs can identify the neural signatures of empathy in brain activities more accurately and consistently than ever before. We propose a model with three elements: (1) measuring empathy using electroencephalogram (EEG) during peace education, (2) conducting neurofeedback protocols with the aim to increase empathy, and (3) protecting cognitive rights with the help of ethical measures. Initial studies show that BCI-augmented teaching produces more positive behavior than traditional methods. Still, it needs strict ethical monitoring about privacy issues, informed consent with at-risk groups, and fair availability of resources. This neuroethical approach is providing education systems with research-backed means to convert the rhetoric of values into quantifiable growth in terms of character, thus pushing further the global peace education goals.
