๐Ÿ“˜ : Nexus Global Research Journal of Multidisciplinary (NGRJM) Volume 2, Issue 4, 2026 (Page : 132-134)

ABSTRACT:

Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) is an effective method for the characterization of essential oils, including anise oil (Pimpinella anisum L.). FTIR analysis revealed the presence of functional groups characteristic of the majority of compounds, especially anethole, responsible for the aromatic and bioactive properties of the oil. The FTIR spectrum of anise oil shows the following main bands: 3400โ€“3200 cmโปยน (Oโ€“H vibrations due to phenolic compounds), 3000โ€“2850 cmโปยน (aliphatic Cโ€“H vibrations), 1640โ€“1600 cmโปยน (aromatic C=C vibrations), 1500โ€“1450 cmโปยน (Cโ€“H bending vibrations), 1260โ€“1020 cmโปยน (ethereal Cโ€“Oโ€“C vibrations, characteristic of anethole) and 900โ€“700 cmโปยน (Cโ€“H out-of-plane bending vibrations of the aromatic ring). These spectral signatures allow the identification of the main chemical composition of the oil and highlight the role of anethole as the dominant bioactive component. FTIR thus proves to be a rapid and non-invasive method for the qualitative analysis of anise oil, contributing to quality control studies and phytochemical research.

Comprehensive Pharmacological Study of Moringa oleifera: Anti-Diabetic and Anti-Cancer Potential

Comprehensive Pharmacological Study of Moringa oleifera: Anti-Diabetic and Anti-Cancer Potential

๐Ÿ“˜ : Nexus Global Research Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences (NGRJPS) Volume 1, Issue 1, 2026ย  (Page : 45-49)

ABSTRACT:

Moringa oleifera is a well-known medicinal plant recognized for its diverse pharmacological activities, particularly in the management of metabolic and proliferative disorders. The present study investigates its anti-diabetic and anti-cancer potential using in vitro models. The anti-diabetic activity was evaluated through the ฮฑ-amylase inhibition assay, which measures the ability of the plant extract to inhibit carbohydrate-hydrolyzing enzymes and thereby reduce postprandial hyperglycemia. The ethanolic extract of Moringa oleifera leaves exhibited significant enzyme inhibition, reaching up to 78% at higher concentrations, indicating strong hypoglycemic potential. The anti-cancer activity was assessed using the MTT assay on MCF-7 human breast cancer cell lines. The extract demonstrated dose-dependent cytotoxicity, with a notable decrease in cell viability and an ICโ‚…โ‚€ value of approximately 55 ยตg/mL, suggesting moderate anticancer efficacy. Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, phenolics, tannins, and saponins, which are known to contribute to antioxidant, enzyme inhibitory, and apoptosis inducing properties. The dual activity observed may be attributed to the synergistic action of these phytoconstituents, which target common pathways such as oxidative stress and inflammation involved in both diabetes and cancer. These findings support the potential of Moringa oleifera as a natural, cost-effective therapeutic agent. However, further in vivo studies and clinical trials are required to validate its safety, efficacy, and mechanism of action for pharmaceutical applications [1-8,22,29].

Paradigms of Interaction: A Comparative Approach between Western and African Communication through the Metaphysical Lens.

๐Ÿ“˜ : Nexus Global Research Journal of Artโ€™s, Humanities (NGRJAH) Volume 2, Issue 1, 2026ย  (Page : 33 – 38)

ABSTRACT:

This study explores the fundamental divergences between Western communication, rooted in the pragmatics of the Palo Alto School, and African communication, as theorized by Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo. While the Western model is structured around the immediacy of feedback and the horizontality of interpersonal exchange (“one cannot not communicate”), the African paradigm unfolds within a holistic and ontological dimension. The “hidden dimension” of African exchange integrates metaphysical actors (ancestors, spiritual entities) who relativize the notion of immediate feedback in favor of cosmic harmony. Through a socio-semiotic approach, this research demonstrates that communication in Africa is not merely a transfer of information but a ritualistic dynamic aimed at maintaining the balance between the visible and invisible worlds.

ABSTRACT:

This study provides a geotechnical study of a six-story factory building in the proposed Liberty Knitwear Ltd. in Kaliakair, Gazipur, Bangladesh. The characteristics of the subsoils were identified using four boreholes that were 60 ft deep and found a typical Bengal delta stratigraphy: a thin surface of reddish, plastic clays (0โ€“22 ft, SPT N=4-24) covered densely with silty sands (SPT N=14-50). The level of groundwater was observed 14-17 ft in to ground. Engineering design was based on laboratory tests, including grain-size distribution (top fines to 88 per cent and bottom sands to 92 per cent), Atterberg limits, and direct shear tests (ฯ† = 26-40 degrees, c = 0.11 -0.049 tsf). The calculated bearing capacities of shallow foundations reached 1.68tsf at 10 ft depth (factor of safety = 3). Furthermore, 24-inch-diameter piles with pile capacities of more than 120 tons at a depth of 60 ft support the feasibility of deep foundations in terms of heavier loads. The location of the site in Seismic Zone2 (z = 0.20, BNBC 2020) requires a dynamic analysis and supports the suggestions for shallow foundations. These results provide a strong basis for cost-effective and secure foundation construction in the problematic deltaic soils of Bangladesh.

ABSTRACT:

The distinct morphologies and functional properties of nanocellulose, which includes cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs), nanofibrillated cellulose (NFC), and amorphous nanocellulose, are determined by the sources and methods of extraction. NC exhibits enormous potential as a sustainable and renewable material in a variety of industrial sectors that are in line with environmental goals because of its high surface area, optical transparency, thermal stability, and capacity to form stable suspensions. The review describes the superior gas barrier qualities of dense, crystalline NC films under low to moderate relative humidity (RH) conditions by comparing the oxygen permeability (OP) and water vapor permeability (WVP) of NC films to those of conventional polymers. The limitations of NC films are examined in relation to porosity, crystallinity, processing techniques, and additives that affect barrier performance, especially the rise in permeability at higher RH brought on by plasticization and swelling effects. The sustainable nature of NC production is further highlighted by a review of environmental factors, such as energy consumption in mechanical fibrillation and chemical treatments to lower energy use. Overall, the study positions NC as a promising biomaterial with multipurpose capabilities in advanced material science by offering crucial insights into streamlining the production of nanocellulose films and customizing their properties for uses like electronics, biomedical devices, and sustainable packaging.

ABSTRACT:

William Butler Yeatsโ€™s โ€œThe Second Comingโ€ reflects postโ€“World War I chaos. It depicts moral inversion and apocalyptic violence as signs of a collapsing era and the rise of a dark new age. This article aims to identify and analyze moral inversion and apocalyptic violence in his poem โ€œThe Second Comingโ€. We employed a qualitative documentary research design to accomplish this study. Major poetic excerpts which reflect the moral inversion and apocalyptic violence in the poem functioned as the sources of primary data, whereas relevant books and peer-reviewed journal articles were used as the sources of qualitative secondary data. We applied a thematic analysis to interpret the primary data. The findings specify that this poem functions as a powerful metaphor for moral inversion and apocalyptic violence. The poem reflects the persistent erosion of ethical and democratic values. It shows that the โ€œlack of convictionโ€ among the virtuous is not merely a historical condition but a recurring phenomenon that shapes periods of social and political crisis. Yeats portrays a world where traditional virtues are systematically replaced by predatory chaos. This article emphasizes the enduring relevance of Yeatsโ€™s prophecy in understanding contemporary global crises. This study is academically significant as it analyzes Yeatsโ€™s portrayal of moral inversion and apocalyptic violence, and offers insights into the interplay between literature, ethics, and socio-political crises across historical and contemporary contexts. It will benefit scholars, students, and researchers of literature.
